Schneider Electric to Enhance the Technical Collaboration With SET Center

SET Center received representatives from Schneider Electric and discussed the potential technical collaborations in the future. During the meeting, the delegate received presentations on different research projects and showed their keen interest to collaborate within these potential projects at an advanced level. The Center Director, Dr. Mamdooh Al-Saud said that SET is focused to collaborate more efficiently with the industry to inspire and trigger technological developments that are more practical and beneficial for the technological market stake holders.

During the follow up meeting, the regional Director Mr. Mohammed Nehad Raef and the SET Center Director discussed the action plan for collaboration that included:

  1. Collaboration on the currently on-going NSTP Project
  2. Training of graduate students enrolled in the SET Master Program in the research areas related to the Schneider’s business themes
  3. Technical collaboration on specific current projects and studies at SET including the projects relating to the sun tracker, generation unit, development of management control system, weather forecasting units, and inverter of the CSP project, and power quality improvement of power electronics converters
  4. Technical collaboration on specific current projects and studies at SET relating to the study and pursuance of the idea of moving KSU toward becoming a “smart campus”
  5. Establishment of Schneider electric smart grid laboratory at KSU similar to the one in RYERSON University, Toronto, Canada
